My niece Kendyl turns 3!

Tatum just loved playing with Kenna Tatum and the birthday girl!

Good buddies, Ty and Kendyl

Kenna just can't get enough of her youngest cousin. Kenna will make a wonderful mom in about 30 years.

spring has sprung and so have dresses

I couldn't wait for a nice day so I could put Tatum in a dress. My friend Jenn got this for Tater when she was born so I have been waiting 10 months for her to wear this. It was a perfect day for a dress, sunny, my niece Kendyl's birthday and Lianna's baby shower. It was a little too cold for bare legs so I put some white baby legs on her to keep her warm and her new shoes that her Grammers bought her. Isn't she cute in that dress, I just want to eat her!
On another note, being a stay at home mom has some great benefits but there a few drawbacks. 1) Both kids get used to mom and only want mommy when they are crying. 2) They only want mommy when they are crying. 3) They only want mommy when they are crying. I think you get it. Ugh! I love my kids and think they are the best but geez, if I hear "hold you mommy, hold you mommy" one more time I might blow a gasket. I love the fact that my kids love their mama but I just wish they would want to go their daddy so he can deal with the kids during the "fun" times of the day. Pat tries to help but they just cry harder for their mommy...at least they love me!

A Papa Surprise

Somebody rang my doorbell this morning and to my surprise it was my dad. My dad was supposed to be out car shopping since their car was stolen but he decided to take about an hour detour and see his grandkids...of course his favorite daughter too! Ty was so excited to see his Papa and play with him.

Friends

Jenn trying to get Ty to make funny faces at the camera.

One of my best friends from high school came over last night. We haven't seen her since Tatum was born, my kids loved her! Tatum is a mama's girl right now but she went right to Jenn and then Ty loved sitting on her lap and going through her purse. If you know Ty, you know he doesn't sit still for very long but with Jenn he sat with her forever! It was so good to catch up with her, she is one of those friends that you don't have to talk to alot but when you do get together, we just pick up right where we left off. In high school I loved going over to Jenn's house because we would eat chili and cream cheese dip and drink Pepsi, things that wouldn't ever be at my house. We talked about how it's so weird that we are "grown up" now. I can't believe that I am old enough to be a teacher and a mom and Jenn a prosecuting attorney...time flies! Thanks for coming over Jenn, we can't wait to get together again!

The Nightly Routine

Every night before it's time for bed, my "three" kids wrestle. They all just love it!

Round Two

The little things make me excited. Like going to Costco! I love Costco, even if I just have to buy the essentials like TP, paper towels, laundry detergent, etc. On Saturday after Pat's game (which they won!) and after watching the Huskies play I decided to go to Costco. Just thinking about going to Costco makes me happy. So I bet you get it now that costco makes me happy. Anyways, I was on my way with Tater and I hear a gagging noise, I look back and Tatum is completely covered in puke! So I pulled over and cleaned her up and back home we went. I felt bad for Tatum because this is the second time in about a month that she has had the stomach flu! So I was bummed I couldn't go to Costco but actually it all worked out well because I thought Costco closed at 7pm but it was actually 6pm so I would have gotten all the way over there and it would have been closed. Tatum woke up puking in the middle of the night and she just wanted to lay on us on Sunday. I still wanted to go to Costco. So, Ty and I went to costco on Sunday morning and it was so cute. Ty wanted to wear his Lightning McQueen bike helmet. So I let him and he wore in Costco and all the way home. It is so funny watching people look at Ty. I didn't know if they thought he was wearing a "special" helmet or if they knew he was just a two year old who wants to wear his bike helmet everywhere. It cracked me up!

I promise, this will...

not be the last time I post a video of Tatum walking. I am sure you all will get sick of seeing videos of Tatum walking if you haven't already. Blame it partly on my mom, she wanted to see her walking again. Plus, I just can't get over the fact that she is walking already. Excuse her messy hair and snotty nose, it's just one of those days. Also, she is already learning how to multi-task by walking and carrying a cell phone. It's hard not to compare the two kids but she is at least 2 months ahead of Ty when it comes to walking. I will give Ty some props, I think he was saying a lot more at this time than her so I guess they are even.

Go Huskies!

Geez mom, do you really need to take my picture?

Ty wanted to play outside this morning so I thought it was only appropriate to put him in his Husky gear today because they have their first game in the big tourney. All of his Husky gear is all courtesy of Grandpa Swapp who is a UW alum.

she's a walk'n

So at 10 months old Tatum can walk almost across our living room. I tried to get it on video but EVERY time I bring the camera out she falls or is distracted by the camera. She is so proud of herself and her parents are proud of her too! As you can see in the video, Ty tries to stop any attempt at her walking and then he jumps on her and wants her to give him a horsey ride. It doesn't seem to bother her to much because she laughs when he does it. Try to ignore my voice on the video, it's really annoying...sorry.

10 month Birthday, pneumonia, painting, etc.

So Pat has been fighting a bug for 5 days. He has had a fever, chills and then sweats. Finally today I was able to convince him to go to the doctor with a little help from his mom. Well, he has pneumonia. So he is glad that he went to the doctor.

Doing a little painting. Do you notice Ty's haircut? Ty hates to get his haircut so we have been putting if off. But today he sat on my lap so nicely and did great. So hopefully from now on he won't be such an ordeal to get a haircut.

Tatum with her crazy hair and curls

Where did those curls go?

No I didn't shave the bottom of her hair.

I was bored so I put a pony tail on top of Tatum's head. Underneath all of that curly crazy hair is BLONDE STRAIGHT hair! It's the new hair that has grown since she rubbed it bald. So it will be interesting to see what happens to her hair as she grows. I am debating whether or not to cut her hair to kind of start over but I think once I cut some of those curls off, they will never come back. I can't believe my baby girl is 10 months old today! Wow, it goes by fast!

They Say the Darndest Things: Part 2

"Hey Sexy." Hmm...I wonder where Ty heard that?

"Dammit, where's my paceship(spaceship)?" He hasn't used that word in awhile so we thought he was over it, but apparently it's still in his vocabulary.

"I want my mocha," it's cute when he asks for his mocha which is chocolate milk.

"Red means stop!"
"Green means go!"
"Yellow means FAST!"
"Stop sign mom, the octagon says stop."
When I drive Ty gives me the play by play of when to go and stop. Papa Swapp told him that yellow means to go fast so I am trying to change that one, luckily Ty doesn't start driving for another 14 years.

Quote of the Week

"It's bright mommy, turn it off." That is what Ty said as we were driving to Marysville on Tuesday when the sun was in his eyes. I guess we aren't used to the sun around here.

Who needs chew toys?

Sock in hand.
Sock in mouth
Ty's shoe in mouth...anything is chew toy around here.

By the way, Tatum is back to her happy little self!

Dress up with Grandma Maggie

Ty loves to wear Grandma Maggie's shoes, coat and even her earrings. Here he is wearing her shoes but you can't see them because they are covered by her coat.

Yep, No Hands

For the past couple of weeks Tatum has been standing without holding onto things. Now she will take one or two steps and then fall. So, I guess she is walking...kind of.

Here is a picture of Ty outside in the snow today, yep today, March 9th!

Tatum taking a step. Wahoo!

What a week!!!!!!!!!!!

Tatum was really fussy this week due to getting her two upper teeth coming through her little gums and Ty was well, to put in nicely...he was a stinker. He tested my patience every second of the week. Of course this had to be the week that Pat started baseball and he was gone to at least 6 every night. On Thursday when Tatum wouldn't let me put her down, Amanda came over. She is one of Pat's baseball player's girlfriend. She is so nice and played with Ty for 5 hours. Ty loved all the attention and it helped me out tremendously! They read the Thomas the Train catolog at least 10 times. Amanda knows more about Thomas the Trains that she ever thought she would. I think Tatum woke up every two hours every night this week and one night I got only about an hour of sleep. Anybody who knows me very well, knows that I love my sleep and I get a little cranky when I don't get enough.

Also, one of my closest friends mother-in-law passed away on Thursday, Jean Swanson. Jean was a very nice lady and she also was a co-worker of mine at Washington Elem. I feel so sad for the Swanson family right now as they go through the grieving process of losing a loved one.

Then today my mom went and ran 10 miles on Centennial Trail and when she got back to her car, her car was stolen! To those jerks who stole that car...get a real job and buy your own darn car!
This week wasn't all bad but I hope next week is a little better and I get some more sleep!

Where's Tatum?

By the time I got my camera Tatum was almost done playing, "Where's Tatum?" She would put the little blanket up over face and then pull it down and laugh over and over again. So here's just a glimpse.

Ty goes bonk

We were at my parents house today and Ty was outside playing and this is what happened. This is the first time he really has gotten hurt. He was tough. He was bleeding and we brought him inside and he was crying because he wanted to go back outside and play. ( I don't know why this is underlined and I can't figure out how to get rid of it...sorry!)

Baseball season has begun

Pat started baseball today so now I have to cook and clean as well as take care of the kids...it's about time I started to do more around here, I have had it way to easy! Normally I forget to order the sweatshirts but this year I wanted to make sure we had them in time for the first game this year.

Bed Head

Ohh, I Just Love Her!

Ok, I am "that mom" who can't stop taking pictures of her little girl who everyone gets annoyed with...sorry! I posted pics of Tatum with this jumper on last week but I put a different shirt underneath and white Baby Legs this time so I couldn't help but take more pictures of her. I just love watching her play independently, she just loves the kitchen. It's perfect height for her.
Also, I don't mean to leave out Ty, I love him too but I don't think he would look as cute in a dress!
