keeping him busy

Ty was driving me nuts the other day and he finally played independently when I let him video tape everything he saw around the house.  I really didn't let him record anything (but he thought he was) but for some reason looking at the carpet, toys, food is a lot more entertaining when you look at it through a video camera.  It ended up being really cute watching him, he was so serious and took video recording very serious.  As much as he tests my patience right now, I just love that boy!

having a late night snack with daddy

Tatum had a late nap today and wouldn't go down to sleep at her regular time of 7:00pm.  So after about an hour of her jumping, yelling, screaming in her crib, we decided to get her out.  This is her at 9:30pm eating some pub mix with her daddy.  She insisted on wearing Ty's worker goggles on her forehead, too cute!

Tatum tested out her new scooter when Addison and Scarlett came over to play on Monday.

what a mess

Thanks Nicole for the wonderful packing confetti that you put in Tatum's present. Really, you shouldn't have! I was in my room and I heard Pat raising his voice and this is what he found:

"I am cleaning with my mama"

I was running around the morning of Tatum's party trying to clean everything and I had the most wonderful helper...Tatum!

She kept saying, "I am cleaning with my mam!"
She helped me clean the counters, fridge, dishwasher, tables, chairs and sweep. I just love that Tatum is at the stage where she can help me even though it takes me twice as long to get things done.

Green Thumb

We planted our first garden a couple of weeks ago. My grandpa made me the vegetable boxes and they are perfect for us to grow a few veggies and some fruit. Ty loved digging the holes and organizing the plants. Now I am just crossing my fingers that something grows! Please ignore the weeds growing along our house...they have since been removed since we made our garden! We never go on that side of the house during the winter and it's gets a little out of control until the spring when we have a chance to get to it!

Tatum's Birthday Party

We celebrated Tatum's 2nd birthday on Sunday with family and some friends. I was thankful the weather was so nice so the kids just played outside and they ate their food and their cupcakes outside so there was no mess in the house...gotta love that! Tatum enjoyed her party so much. The best part of all, was Ty was so excited for Tatum and her party, he was the best big brother!

The Happy Birthday Tatum sign I made.

Tatum looking at her sign and saying Happy Birthday Tatum over and over again, she was a little excited to say the least.

Cupcakes that I made.

My nephew Kaeden pulled all of the little kids in the wagon, they all loved it.

The mama giving the birthday girl a big old kiss!

I just love this girl!

Tatum loved the doll house we got her!
We had Tatum's two-year check-up today. She is very healthy and she weighs 28lbs (50-70th percentile) and 36 inches (95th percentile). Tatum was a little scared of Dr. R and Ty tried to comfort her and tell her that he was a nice doctor, she didn't buy it until he gave her a few stickers.

Happy Birthday Tater Cakes!

It's amazing that this is Tater today...

and this was her a year ago!
We can't believe that Tatum is 2 today! She is the most precious little girl to us. Her sweet little voice, beautiful blue eyes, contagious smile, her sassiness are all things that we just love about her. Seriously, even when she is throwing a fit, we think she is the cutest little thing in the world. Some of the things that Tatum is doing right now are:

  • tells us when she is tired and ready to go to bed

  • wants to do everything herself!
  • speaks in 7-10 word sentences and repeats everything

  • when she throws a tantrum she just lays on the floor

  • still eats anything

  • loves to play outside

  • likes to wear her boots everywhere

  • wants to do everything her brother does

  • asks lots of questions!

  • says "oh my goodness" alot

  • arches her back and tries to stand up when we are putting her in her carseat...which is so fun for her mommy and daddy!

  • loves her babies and dolly

  • doesn't leave her mommy's side

  • loves taking a bath

  • drama queen

  • loves the shows: Handy Manny, Caillou, Kipper

  • can say all of her letter sounds

Happy Birthday Tatum!

a wonderful mother's day

For Mother's Day we went to Pat's mom's for a wonderful breakfast and then after naps we went down to my parents for a bbq. The kids played outsided the entire time and had a great time playing with their cousins.

Kennadi giving Ty a golf lesson.

Papa giving Tater a golf lesson.

The "sunglass girls."

Papa giving Ty a lesson. Ty can be a little stubborn so it took awhile to convince Ty to hold his hands the "right way" not the "Ty way."

Look at that follow through!

My sister was trying to get a picture of her kids with their daddy but my kids wanted to be in a picture with their Uncle Shawn too!

We actually were able to get all five of the cousins kind of looking at the camera at the same time.
