Taters goes camping

Tatum loved camping even though she pretty much refused to sleep in the tent.  I just love how she enjoys and smiles all day long!

The Fab Five Camping

Every year our family, with my sister's family and my parents go camping in Bridgeport, WA.  There is pretty much nothing to do in that town but go camping.  It is still hard to go camping with a 2 year old and a 3 year old.  Ty did great but Tatum would not sleep in the tent...it made for a tired and cranky mama!  We only stayed two nights but the rest of them are die hards and stayed the whole week.  My dad takes his boat and we pack up lunches, snacks and go to a little beach across the river so we have the whole sandy beach to ourselves.  Kayla's kids are so good with my kids, they all just have a blast with each other.  My dad lets Ty drive the boat and he told us that was his favorite part of camping.  I felt bad that we left early because Ty was having so much fun but I couldn't bare another sleepless night on an air mattress, in a tent with Tatum.

65 degree heat wave

The kids were able to finally enjoy their new pool today...65 degrees, it's a heat wave! Ha!  They loved their new pool and didn't mind that they were shivering and had goose bumps.

St. Merry Fest

Last weekend Pat had to run a baseball tourney so I was stuck with the kids all weekend...not really stuck but you know what I mean.  The Johnstons invited me and the kids to come over for dinner and then walk to St. Merry's Festival at the Catholic Church.  This was the first year we have gone, maybe the last.  The kids enjoyed the rides.  I was so nervous, it looked like the rusty bolts were going to come out of the rides.  I asked the guy if there was height requirement for the motorcycle ride and he said, "There aint no rules."  I was a little nervous but the kids LOVED the rides.
We also did the big giant slide with the gunny (sp?) sack.  Ty walked all the way up by himself, went down without even thinking twice and then did it again because he went down the first time without the gunny sack.  I am just shocked at the difference in Ty in a year.  I am not sure whether to contribute it to him thinking he is Spiderman or him just growing up.
