So Blessed...
Every day Pat and I talk about how blessed we are to have each other and to have two beautiful healthy children. We remind each other all of the time to not take for granted each day. When something happens to someone we know it really makes us put things in perspective. I am not going to pretend I am a religous person but good friends of our family have a boy in critical condition at Children's Hospital due to severe complications with an Ecoli infection. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers and be thankful for every healthy day you have with your family!

First Husky Game
This weekend Pat, Tatum and I went to the Husky football game. Besides them losing, it was a lot of fun and the weather was perfect. We ate dinner in the U-District and the walked to the Husky game with Pat carrying Tatum in the baby bjorn. I have been using the peanut shell baby sling so this was the first time Tatum was in the front pack and she loved it. At the game she enjoyed the lights and looking at the people. She slept through the noise and was perfect! While we were at the football game Grandpa Swapp watched Ty. Ty had a great time, much to our surprise when we got home at midnight, Ty was still up! He wouldn't go down for Grandpa but he did read books for four hours! But after each book he would tell Grandpa, "thank you grandpa" so I guess it was worth staying up late. We think the reason why Ty didn't go to sleep is because the last couple of times we have left him someone we were gone for three or four days.

The week flew by
My darn computer won't let me upload pictures right now so I am a little disappointed. I am so glad that I am not working because we sure are staying busy. Ty had a few play dates this week with Riley and Addison...oh yeah, Tatum had a playdate too with her cousin Scarlett. We went to the Messy Me class on Wednesday and this time Ty actually got a little messy and then he had preschool today. He just loves preschool!!! He is getting better at circle time and loves to sing and dance to the songs. It was so much better this time at preschool because I was able to leave Tatum with Pat's Aunt Janie and I could just focus on Ty. Anyways, hopefully I will be able to upload pics soon!

A Long Weekend
I had a volleyball tournament in Coos Bay, Oregon this weekend. So we had to leave on Thursday morning so I drove Ty down to his Auntie's house in Marysville to stay with them. He had so much fun with his cousins. Ty still sleeps in his crib and Pat and I have never been able to get him to sleep anywhere but his crib but this weekend he took naps at my sister's house on her bed and my parents bed. We have tried to get him to take a nap on our bed but we always fail! He then stayed with my parents on Friday and Saturday and had a great time with them. He loved my mom's thin pancakes and ate enough to keep him full for two days. Pat and I are so thankful to have such a wonderful family, when we leave Ty we don't have to worry one bit.
The vball team took a 15 passenger van to Oregon for a 9 hour drive, it was a little cramped because besides the 12 players, little Tater went with. She loves the players and she again proved to be the perfect little traveler. Pat drove down after work on Thursday so he could watch Tater while I coached. My team ended up going 3-2 and we played pretty well the whole tourney.
We woke up on Sunday morning to our little Ty excited to see his mommy and daddy. The happiness only lasted a few minutes and then the meltdowns started. I think he was so good for my family for three days then he was exhausted. He went down for a nap at 10am which worked out perfect because we had plans to go to Decatur Island which is about a 20 minute boat ride West of Anacortes. Honestly, Pat and I were dreading going out there, we were tired and so was Ty. We are so glad we bucked up and ended up going out to the island. We all met our at Skyline Marina and took a Water Taxi (I didn't even know that something like that existed) to the island. The entire Swapp side of the family got together out on the island at Pat's Uncle John and Aunt Kelly's place. It was absolutely beautiful!! We were expecting cold weather so we all were bundled up for rain and it ended up being about 70 degrees and gorgeous. We had no idea what to expect out there but there house is amazing and is on 12 waterfront acres, it's our dream house! It was so much fun, Ty got to enjoy the beach and played with his cousin Addison. It was so relaxing for us all and I am so glad we ended up going out there.
I am having troubles uploading pictures so I will try later tonight or tomorrow.

"Messy Me" Art Class
"Meowww"
Ty's buddy Riley enjoyed getting messy
Ty enjoyed his first day of the Messy Me art class run through the Anacortes Parks. There were several little art stations, the one he enjoyed the most was the one with the rice. He really didn't like to play with the shaving cream, he doesn't like to get his hands "messy."
A little Musician
Every time Ty goes over to his Grandma Maggie and Grandpa Tom's house he always dances and plays a little guitar to the Eagles CD. So Grandpa Tom got him his own real guitar. He loves it! Sometimes he swings it like a bat or tries to step on it, so hopefully he doesn't break it. I tried to get a picture of Ty holding the guitar correctly but as soon as I brought the camera he acted silly and wouldn't hold it right...go figure! I just hope my little boy has more musical talent than I do.

Tater's 4 month stats:
Our little girl is getting so big.
Weight: 14 lbs 10 ounces-80th percentile
Height: 26 3/8 inches long-97th percentile
Head: 41.5 cm-70th percentile
I just looked back at what Ty's stats were at 4 months old because Tatum just seems so much bigger than he was at the same age but actually he weighed 15lbs 11oz and 26 inches long...I guess he was chubbier than I remember.

First Day of Preschool
Ty with some other kids and Miss Ashley his teacher.
Hmm...how do these things work?
Ty and I are enrolled in a Co-op Preschool here in Anacortes. Today was the first day and Ty was so excited! He loves playing with all of the toys and he did a great job sharing the toys, I was relieved! Just like the playgroup this summer, Ty really doesn't want anything to do with circle time. There are just so many toys to play with, he is too distracted to sit down. I only took a couple of pictures and it was Ty using the scissors for the first time. He looked at the other kids using the scissors and was tryinig to figure out how they worked. Of course the scissors are so child-proof they don't even cut the paper but oh well! It was a lot of fun and on the way home Ty said, "Fun, kids, toys!"
By the way, my volleyball team won last night, we are now 3-1. I am not sure how much Pat was able to watch the game becuase he had to chase Ty around but luckily my sister, dad, Grandpa Swapp were at the game too to help out a bit.

San Francisco
My volleyball team went to San Francisco for four days this past weekend. It was a lot of fun. Tatum was the perfect traveler. We got home last night and she was exhausted, she slept for almost 13 hours! Then she woke up, I gave her a bath and she fell asleep again. While we were away, Ty had a wonderful time with his Grandma Maggie and Grandpa Tom. They took him to the farm at Aunt Dawn and Uncle Greg's house where he got to ride on the tractor, pick potatoes and carrots, feed the chickens and run around. They went to the park, pretty much they kept him really busy for four full days. Maggie took pictures of this weekend and everything that they did but unfortunately she lost her camera at the park. As much as we missed Ty, it was a lot easier to travel without him on this trip.

Pics from last weekend, "Swapp Oyster Fest"
We had family and friends over last weekend to enjoy oysters, hotdogs and beverages. I had left my camera at the college so Lianna took pictures for me and I just got them. We are down here in San Francisco right now with the volleyball team. Ty is staying with his Grandma Maggie and Grandpa Tom at our house while Pat, Tatum and I are down here.

Back in the tub!
After 4 months of sitting there with bath toys waiting to be played with, the tub is back in use! Last week I was giving Tater a bath on the counter and Ty asked to take a bath just like Tatum. So I plopped his 21 month old body into the tiny infant to toddler tub on the kitchen counter and gave him a bath...he loved it! So this weekend I was giving Tatum another bath and he asked to have a bath again but this time I put the toddler tub in the big bath tub in the bathroom. He seemed to enjoy playing with his tub toys. This morning he asked to have a "bathy" and I was shocked! He went to Tatum's bath and I told him if he wants to take a bath, he would have to use the big bath and he ran into the bathroom yelling, "bathy!" So sure enough he jumped right into the bath like he hadn't been scared of it for the last 4 months. He played in the bath for a half an hour and I had to drag him out of the bath. So who knows what made him change his mind about baths but I am just glad he enjoys them again.
