with a moo, moo here...

On Saturday we went over to my sister-in-laws house (farm). We spent most of the time by the chickens, they are quite entertaining for little children. The chicken coup started with one chicken and then once he started throwing food for the chickens, 25 more chickens came pouring out of the door. Ty was so excited and Tatum just stood there for 10 minutes cheeping.

"Cheeping" at the chickens

Ty can put the lip out like no other. He was sad that he couldn't eat the unripe strawberries.

We told Ty he had to wait for the strawberries to get ripe, well...he was staring at them waiting for them to get ripe.

Auntie Dawn was so good at explaining to Ty what things were.

Then they played with the farms and the animals.

Isn't this little cabin neat? They built this cabin on their property and the kids loved it!

yep, we have a climber

Tatum climbs up on everything. I was cooking dinner and I look over in this is what I see. It would be fine if she knew how to get down herself but she hasn't quite mastered that yet.

There is Tater peeking over the chair, she is so proud of herself.
I was lucky with Ty, he didn't start climbing on the furniture until he was at least 15 months old.

Playdate at Lianna's

We had a playdate at Lianna's house on Tuesday. I think there were 10 moms and 17 kids. It was a lot of fun. As you can see the Gator was a hit for of the kiddos. It was hard to take a lot of pictures because I was constantly chasing two kids around their huge yard.

Doesn't every two year old boy sleep with a spatula?

For some reason Ty had a really hard time going to sleep tonight. When I went in to check on him this is what I saw, Ty holding his puppy and the spatula (which he slept with at nap time too!). I couldn't resist taking a picture.

look at me!

I was in the kitchen and I looked into the living room and I saw Tatum sitting so proudly on Ty's box that he keeps his trains. It was cute. I took her down because I was afraid that she was going to fall. I went back to the kitchen and looked back and there she was standing on the box.

I thought if I just flipped the box right side up she won't be able to stand on it BUT she quickly figured that out. Here is the video to show you. I just can't believe how smart one year olds are. And now she says, "cheese" when I take her picture. With that cute little face, Pat and I aren't sure how we are ever going to say no to her.

a dead battery doesn't stop them

Yesterday we went over to our friend's house for a bbq. The kids had a great time playing with each other and I think the adults had even more fun having some adult beverages (Pat might have had a little too much fun!)

The battery died after a little while but that didn't stop the kids from having fun. It was kind of nice because we didn't have to worry about the boys running the girls over.
Tatum and her friend Courtney loved the John Deere gator.

Tater lovin' the gator. Did you notice she is wearing her cute pink John Deere shirt to match the tractor?

Trent, Ty and Ben being boys.

Ty and Ben driving the gator...when it still had batteries.

hair and boots

Tatum's hair is out of control in the morning but I just love it.

Tater loving her boots even though they are too big and constantly fall off. I stopped counting how many times I put those boots on her, she loves her shoes!
Do you like her new camera face?

pure determination

Tatum loves her shoes. If she sees them, she wants them on. If she sees Ty's shoes, she wants them on. She tries so hard to put them on herself and sometimes she is sucessful. Cari (our nanny) took this video of her trying to put on her shoe while I was on jury duty.

taking in a little sun

Yesterday Pat had a baseball game in MV so we had planned to go to Lianna's house and walk to the game from there BUT it was too dang hot. So instead the kids played on the slip-n-slide and in the pool. Xavier and Ty played so well together, it was really nice!

when mommy is away, the children will play

Isn't this weather wonderful? Well...I wish I could enjoy it more with my kids but I am on jury duty! So Cari, our nanny from last year and her little boy Riley have been watching the kids (Auntie Dawn and Great Aunt Mary have watched them a little too) while I have been gone. It was fine being gone from them one day but now it has been two long days away from the kiddos and I miss them! I am not sure they have missed me too much because they are having a lot of fun, as you can tell in the pictures. I asked Cari to take pictures of them playing in the water. I can't say anything about the trial I am on but when it's over I will be sure to give some details!

some fun at Aunt Chrissy and Uncle Dave's

We stayed with Pat's aunt and uncle while we were over in Selah. It was so nice to stay with them, they have such a beautiful home and are so fun to be around. Ty loved swimming in the pool and playing the "pinano."

Uncle Dave getting Ty used to the water.

Then Ty wanted to help Dave get out the bugs out of the pool.

Then he wanted to do it all by himself. He is at the stage where he wants to do EVERYTHING by himself.

Swimming with daddy!

I didn't get any pictures of Tatum in the pool because I was in the pool with her but here she is watching Ty and daddy swim.

Ty swimming with his cousin Ali.

We borrowed this swimsuit from Xavier for Ty to try out before we bought him one. He has the floaties built in so it worked perfect keeping Ty afloat.
