a 90 degree day= a day with Thomas

Today I took Ty and my niece Kendyl to the Day Out With Thomas event at the Snoqualmie Railway. Ty was so excited about going to actually get to see and meet Thomas and Sir Toppham Hat. It was so blazing hot and the kids did great. We rode Thomas the train and saw the beautiful waterfalls, got Thomas tatoos, played with trains, drank lots of cold beverages, rode an old train, tried to avoid all the Thomas paraphernalia that they were selling and rode on a school bus to and from the event. It was so nice to spend the day with those two and just focus on them. Kendyl had a good time but Ty was practically shaking with excitement.

There he is, the REAL THOMAS!!! Ty was so impressed and amazed. He couldn't figure out why it wouldn't talk back to him. He asked, "mom why isn't Thomas talking?"

Ty could have stood there all day looking at Thomas. They had to tell him to move because he was in the way of other people taking pictures. I felt bad that he couldn't be there longer because he was just so excited.

On our way out there wasn't a line to see Sir Toppham Hat so Ty and Kendyl got to give him knuckles, shake his hand and talk to him. Again, I just loved watching the excitement on their faces!

Happy Noises

I was putting laundry in the dryer and picking up and heard my kids making happy noises. They were yelling at the horses next door, making car noises and best of all they weren't fighting! I go to find them to see what they were doing and this is what I found them doing. They were content as can be up there so I let them be and picked up the house some more.

At 14 months Tater...

• climb
• can say new words: bite, stuck, blueberry, thank you, water, please, snack, night night, grandma, papa, uh oh, mimi (mommy), five, backpack, clap, cookie, cracker
• tell me when she poops by saying, "poo poo"
• can moo, meow, baa, snort, and quack
• sleeps through the night
• is obsessed with shoes
• loves reading books
• still only has 6 teeth
• eats more than her brother
• gives high fives

Memory Lane: They grow up way too fast

We had Pat's cousin Suzanne and her two kids over for dinner tonight. Ty and Addison are a week apart and Tater and Scarlett are 18 days apart. It feels just like yesterday that we would get together when the first two were born and they would just lay there and stare at each other. Now they are playing independently, running around carrying on conversations with each other. It's so fun to see them grow up together and now Tater and Scarlett are joining them!

Hawaii

Our vacation to Hawaii was wonderful, flying with Tatum on the other hand is a whole different story...she doesn't like to sleep on airplanes! Pat's team played well and the parents and families were really fun to vacation with. We stayed in Waikiki and were two blocks away from the beach. They both loved the beach. We couldn't keep Tater out of the water. (I have a few more pics to put on here but all of sudden I wasn't able to upload...ugh!)
We took a bus to and from the airport. Ty thought it was so cool.

The first day we went to where Pat's dad and stepmom were staying and enjoyed the day at the beach. Tatum was still trying to recover from the flight so she was a bit fussy but it was fun.

We went to Cheeseburger in Paradise and Ty loved the drink umbrellas. Here they are pretending it's raining.

These are Ty's friends. They are siblings to Pat's players and they loved Ty and Ty LOVED them! He always wanted to be with his friends and didn't quite understand why he couldn't be with them all of the time.

The last night we went to the beach until dark. It was so much fun to be out at night and the water being warm and weather so nice.

Ty is wearing his "big boy" baseball tournament shirt. His friends got t-shirts and he wanted to be like his friends because he thought if he wore a big shirt and that he would be big like them.

I apologize in advance...

to everyone on our flight to Hawaii tomorrow morning. My kids have never liked to sit on our laps for more than a few minutes at a time and so a 5 hour flight will be interesting. And my always happy Tater has come down with something or she is teething but she is whining, crying, and has a fever...I can't wait for the plane ride!
